Lencolo 5021 is an excellent visible photoinitiator. Its initiation process is neither cleavage nor hydrogen capture, but after absorbing light energy, the photoisomerisation becomes a cyclic light reaction intermediate, and ligand substitution occurs with the ester carbonyl group of the acrylate ester in the oligomer and reactive diluent, generating free radicals and initiating polymerisation and cross-linking. It has bleaching effect after photolysis, and is very suitable for visible light curing of thick coatings, and can cure coatings with a thickness of more than 70um.
